Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Albassami
Abdullah Mohammed Albassami is a seasoned leader with extensive expertise in urban planning, infrastructure development, and municipal management. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in City Planning from King Abdulaziz University (graduated 1421H) and a BSc in Geomatics, equipping him with a strong technical and analytical foundation. In addition to his academic credentials, he is proficient in English (very good) and Dutch (good), and skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
Mr. Albassami’s distinguished career includes nearly a decade of service (1422H–1431H / 2001–2010 CE) as Municipal Manager with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of Jeddah City. His key contributions include:
- Urban Development: Led strategic initiatives to enhance Jeddah’s urban structure and spearheaded the creation of new cities.
- Infrastructure Enhancement: Directed the redevelopment of major road networks and implemented traffic congestion solutions through the construction of 23 bridges and 18 additional bridge projects.
- Public Transportation Advancement: Developed special bus routes and bridge systems to improve citywide mobility.
- Public Amenities Expansion: Oversaw the establishment of over 1,300 gardens and multiple public service centers.
- Waste Management Solutions: Addressed critical landfill capacity issues by developing new municipality landfills.
- Digital Transformation: Contributed to the automation of Jeddah Municipality’s service systems, streamlining operations and improving efficiency.
- Commercial Growth: Facilitated the construction of over 105 malls and towers, boosting the city’s economic and commercial landscape.
